2017 Malbec

2017 Malbec

Tasting Notes
This Malbec has complex aromas of red cherry, plum, violets and sage. It is elegant and fresh on the palate which is full
of bright and juicy red fruit flavours. This wine is medium bodied and easy drinking with clean and pleasant finish.

Winemaking Notes
Selected from a cooler site on the lakeshore, this Malbec was harvested very late in the season and underwent an extended maceration on its skins. After aging in second and third-fill French oak barrels from select coopers for nine months, the wine was bottled unfined and unfiltered - our first ever Malbec. The 2017 vintage in Niagara started off cool but a healthy canopy from mid-summer rains and a hot, dry fall resulted in flavorful red wines that are quite approachable in their youth.
