The 2010 Red Conception is a unique blend of several Vinifera varietals, crafted separately in small lots before being assembled. The name was inspired by our Jack Rabbit Flats Vineyard, once a very popular “parking” spot among locals. As it turns out, more than just great wine was conceived in our vineyards...
Medium red in color with inviting aromas of: blackberry, plum, licorice, cedar-smoke and spices. Midweight on the palate with a nice mouthfeel, good structure, and flavours that carry on the finish. An excellent “food wine” that can easily be paired with a number of dishes.
Each variety was vinified separately and aged for just over one year in oak barrels from selected coopers. The wines selected for the final blend were chosen for their approachability; focus on fruit-driven aromatics, soft tannins, and rich mouthfeel. After several blending trials of each of the barrels in our cellar, the individual barrels were selected for the final blend.
