Red Wine 1

Red Wine Sour

Makes 1 cocktail

If you want to impress your pals with a cool looking cocktail, this is the one to serve. Floating the red wine on top of the whiskey and leon mixture gives the drink
a striking look that is pretty impressive, and is actually fairly easy to achieve. You may also be surprises that we suggest adding whisky, lemon, and red wine to the same cocktail, but don’t be scared. Though each flavour is strong on its own, they blend well together – we promise.

  • 2 ounces of rye whisky
  • 1 ounce fresh lemon juice
  • 1 ounce simple syrup
  • 2 dashes aromatic bitters
  • Handful of ice cubes, more for serving
  • 1 ounce of medium - bodies dry red wine

Add the rye whisky, lemon juice, syrup, and bitters to a cocktail shaker. Add the ice and shake for 10-15 seconds. Strain the cocktail into a rocks glass filled with fresh ice cubes. Hold a spoon just above the surface of the cocktail with the back facing up. Gently pour the wine over the spoon so that it floats on top of the cocktail.
