This wine has lifted notes of plum, cherry and dried fig, complemented by notes of all spice and smoked cedar. It is medium-bodied and expressive on the palate, with soft tannins and bright acidity on the finish.
Pair this wine with a variety of braised dishes such as beef stew, chili or lamb. It also pairs well with barbequed meats such as ribs, burgers and steak.
Selected from different barrel lots originating from several sub-appellations, the components in this wine were selected based on structure and their approachability. The wines were aged independently in new and previously filled French oak barrels from select coopers for just over one year so the barrel component in the final wine is a part of the wine, and not overwhelming. The core of this wine (Merlot) gives the wine a soft midpalate with some dried fruit character, while the Cabernet Franc and Malbec gives the final wine an expressive floral/herbal character with structure and a solid backbone of acidity on the finish.
