This wine has intense aromas of ripe raspberry, red cherry, warm spice and cola. On the palate it is rich and fruit-forward with an underlying smokiness and notes of mixed spice on the finish. It is medium-bodied with a smooth and round texture and impressive structure and length.
This wine is incredibly versatile and will pair well with a variety of meat dishes such as steak, burgers and ribs. It also pairs perfectly with pizza, pasta and braised stews.
The 2017 Red Conception is a unique blend of Syrah (44%),
Cabernet Sauvignon (34%), Merlot (11%), Cabernet Franc (9%), Malbec (1%)crafted separately in small lots before being assembled. The name was inspired by our Tufford Road Vineyard, once a very popular
“parking” spot among locals. As it turns out, more than just great wine was conceived in our vineyards…
Each variety was vinified separately and aged for 9 months in oak barrels from selected coopers. The wines selected for the final blend were chosen for their approachability; focus on fruit-driven aromatics, soft tannins, and rich mouthfeel. After several blending trials of each of the barrels in our cellar, the individual barrels were selected for the final blend.
Drinking best 2018-2021.
