2011 Lot No.17 Riesling

Pale straw in colour with brilliant clarity. Pure aromas of lemon zest, mandarin orange, fresh-squeezed lime juice and mango. Bracing acidity on the palate with balanced sweetness, vibrant flavours, and a lengthy finish.

5 stars!!!! “Exuberant aromas and complex flavours showcase vibrant acidity, eye-popping sweet and tang and a monumental, mouth-watering finish. Lemon-lime, nectarine and mineral/slate aromas provide segue for a racy wash of lime sherbet and pit fruit—peach, yellow plum and mango. It’s mid weight with generous mouth feel and a lengthy, yin and yang, lip-smacking aftertaste dazzling with bracing acidity wreathed in sweet, ripe fruit. Purchase by the case for daily home or office delivery from Fielding.” - Vic Harradine, winecurrent.com, May 9, 2012

2011 Lot No.17 Riesling

Winemaking Notes

Sourced from Riesling vines planted in our vineyard on the Beamsville Bench. Maturity in the grapes was defined by the flavours that we tasted, while trying to maintain the exceptional acidity that Riesling exhibits in Niagara. Hand-picked, gently pressed, and cold settled for several days. Clarified juice was fermented at cold temperatures, and fermentation was halted when the ideal sugar/acid/alcohol balance was reached to compliment the flavour profile. Kept cool on its lees until February, then cold stabilized, filtered and bottled.
