2008 Unoaked Chardonnay

A double gold medal winner for Best in Category at the 2010 All Canadian Wine Awards! It’s the perfect wine to please any guest. This Chardonnay is not oaked, so expect fresh flavours. We love this wine because it is very versatile and pairs well with so many different foods.

Light gold in colour with brilliant clarity, this wine has intense aromatics of golden delicious apple, fresh pineapple, bartlett pear, lemon zest, cinnamon spice, and light floral notes. Fresh on the palate, this wine is round while maintaining bright acidity on the flavourful finish.

2008 Unoaked Chardonnay

Winemaking Notes

Fermented at cool temperatures in stainless steel to retain the fresh fruit aromatics and flavours that had developed in the vineyard. The individual vineyard components that make up the final blend for this wine were kept on their lees to help build richness on the palate. The wines did not undergo malo-lactic fermentation in order to help preserve their vibrant acidity and minerality. The wines were racked off their lees and combined just prior to bottling. The final blend has approximately a 50% component of Chardonnay Musqué that brings an element of complexity on the nose and freshness on the palate.

Awards and Accolades

Double Gold! Best in Category - 2010 All Canadian Wine Awards

"Well paced, well made and well priced - it gained its final half star on value. There are aromas and flavours galore with ripe Bosc pear, lemon-lime citrus and an underlying sense of slate and earthy tones. Midweight and nicely textured, it keeps its focus throughout the crisp and refreshing finish. Sip on its own or pair with linguine con vongole." – Vic Harradine, winecurrent.com
